Charlotte's success is, needless to say, down to a lot of hard work on her own part. However Charlotte would admit that if it wasn't for the guidance and support of some other key people she wouldn't be one of Britain's most promising young endurance athletes.
Mick first met Charlotte at a junior schools county cross country event, in which Charlotte finished 16th. After her race Mick spoke to Charlotte and recommended she come along to the training group at Aldershot Farnham and District AC; where, if she enjoyed herself, she could consider taking up atheltics and joining the club. From that moment on Mick has guided Charlotte through the age ranks to the extremely promising senior athlete she is now.
Charlotte has trained at Aldershot since she was 11 years old and started out running. She believes that the club and training group has been the key to her success. The group is led by Mick, and trains together on a regular basis. The strength and depth within the group is phenomenal, no where else in the country would you find so many talented, young individuals. The fact that there is such a strong pool of runners at the club means that everyone can work off each other within training; allowing for great mind set and group ethos to develop the athletic stars of the future.
Toby is Charlotte's physiotherapist. She visits him at Brunel University when ever she has any issues or problems.
