Charlotte first began running aged 11 whilst at Farnborough Hill School where her PE teachers encouraged her to participate in the District Schools Cross Country Championship in which she finished 16th. It was there she met Mick Woods, who spoke to her after the race advising her to take up running and suggested she join Aldershot Farnham and District AC!
She quickly found success on the domestic stage winning the 2006 National AAAs 3000m track title and then went on to claim the English Cross Country title the following Winter. In 2007 she gained her first international honours representing Great Britain at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships held in Mombassa, Kenya where she finished in 15th position. Since then her career has blossomed, repeatedly earning international selection over the track, road and cross country terrains and in 2010 won the European Junior Cross Country title. Her running has taken her all over the world visiting the likes of Kenya, India, Japan and the USA.
Charlotte currently resides in Strawberry Hill, Twickenham where she attends St Mary's University College studying for a degree in History. St Marys University also plays home to a number of other elite international athletes, making it a great location to base herself in the run up to the London 2012 Games. Charlotte is an advocate member of Aldershot, Farnham and District AC and frequently competes for her club contributing to numerous team victories in major domestic events.
